MEMBERSHIP COVENANT

Having been brought by God’s grace to repent and believe in the good news of Jesus Christ and his saving work, and having been baptized upon our profession of faith, we do now, relying upon his grace, solemnly and joyfully affirm our covenant with one another as members of this congregation.

We will pray and labor to be faithful disciples of Jesus Christ, devoted to the glory of God, resting in the gospel of his Son, and dependent upon the work of the Holy Spirit.
Matt. 4:19; 1 Cor. 10:31; Eph. 5:18

We will regularly assemble for corporate worship. We will joyfully participate in opportunities for ministry and fellowship called for by the church.
Heb. 10:25; Eph. 5:19-20; Acts 20:27; 1 Tim. 4:13; Rom. 12:5

We will defend and maintain our gospel witness by upholding and attending to biblical preaching, the administration of the Lord’s supper and baptism, and the exercise of church discipline. We will train ourselves in the teachings of Scripture as expressed in our statement of faith.
2 Tim. 3:16-4:2; Luke 22:14-20; Matt. 18:15-27, 28:18-20; 1 Cor. 5:1-2; Col. 3:16; 2 John 1:9-10; Heb. 5:14

We will affirm the calling of God-appointed and qualified elders by submitting to their leadership, praying for them and their families, and thanking God for their gifts, service, and vision for the church.
Acts 20:28; 1 Tim. 3:1-7; Heb. 13:7, 17; 2 Thess. 3:1

We will walk together in brotherly love. We will pray for one another, serve one another, care for one another, and watch over one another. We will rejoice with those who rejoice and weep with those who weep, bearing one another’s burdens with patience and tenderness. We will speak to one another in ways that encourage and build one another up in the faith.
Rom. 12:10-15; 2 Cor. 1:3-4; 1 Pet. 4:10; Col. 3:12-17; Prov. 10:18

We will eagerly maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. We will forgive one another and make every effort to promote reconciliation. If possible, so far as it depends on us, we will live peaceably with all people.
Eph. 4:3; Eph. 4:29-32; Rom. 12:18

We will proclaim the gospel to our neighbors and faithfully labor for the spread of the gospel to all nations. We will seek to adorn the gospel by pursuing godliness and giving ourselves to good works.
Matt. 28:18-20; Rom. 10:14-15; Phil. 1:27; 1 Tim. 4:7-8

We will cheerfully and regularly give of our finances to support the congregation, care for the needs of others, and support the work of our gospel partners.
2 Cor. 8:9, 9:6-7, 10-15; Gal. 6:10; 1 Cor. 9:14; 1 Tim. 5:17; Acts 1:8; Rom. 15:20

We will, if God calls us away from this church, unite with another church where we can carry out the spirit of this covenant and the teaching of God’s word.
1 Cor. 1:2; Eph. 2:19

May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with us all.
