Wedding Policies

• Wedding Date/Time Policy: Date and time of wedding must be submitted to the Church Wedding Liason (CWL) and approved by the officiant. If the wedding occurs at the Woman’s Club of Orange (WCO), setup/takedown must not interfere with other official church functions.

• Premarital Counseling Sessions: Our standard counseling course is six 1.5 hour sessions during Church Office Hours (Weekdays/Saturdays). The sessions will be conducted by the pastor officiating your wedding. See Premarital Counseling Syllabus below.

• Order of Service: No changes will be made to the officiant’s standard order of service except for the following: song selection, scripture readings, vows, and additional symbolic activities (ex. unity candles). All changes must be submitted to CWL and approved by the officiant no later than one month prior to the wedding.

• Rehearsal: A rehearsal must be scheduled the week of the wedding. All members of the wedding party, liturgy participants, wedding planner, musicians, and VIPs must be present.

• Reception: The reception schedule must be provided to the CWL prior to wedding. Please remember to uphold a Christian witness during the reception, especially if using the WCO. The officiant reserves the right to review and discuss reception plans with wedding party.

• Required Honorariums:
  Officiant: $250
  CWL: $150

• A/V Equipment Policy: Church members may utilize the church's audio and video equipment during the ceremony, provided the following conditions are met:

  1. Ceremony is held at the WCO.

  2. Use of the equipment does not interfere with official church functions. All proposed schedules, alterations to equipment, storage of equipment, etc., must be considered.

  3. Use is supervised by a member of the church's A/V team.

  4. Use is approved by the church's A/V Team Leader.

  5. A minimum $100 honorarium must be provided to the A/V person for their help during the ceremony.

Use of the A/V equipment during a reception at the WCO must be approved separately by the A/V team. If the gear requires any supervision (turning mics on and off, playing music, etc.), an hourly rate similar to average market rate will need to be negotiated for the member of the A/V team for volunteering to stay until the very end to pack up. Expectations for the reception need to be communicated clearly and ahead of time.

Premarital Counseling Syllabus

Each couple and wedding is different. We will tailor our counseling to best serve you. The following is a guideline is based on the 6 sessions we offer church members. You will discuss your counseling needs before an officiant commits to performing your wedding.
